Empress Healthcare Inc., a Medicare-certified home health agency, is hiring Certified Home Health Aides to serve patients across Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties — wherever your assignment takes you within these four counties.

The work

What you’ll do

Certified Home Health Aide

CHHA

  • Provide hands-on personal care — bathing, dressing, and hygiene — for each patient in their home, under the direction of the supervising RN
  • Take and record vital signs — temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure — along with height and weight, as assigned
  • Help with light household tasks that support each patient’s health at home
  • Assist patients with ambulation, exercise, and range-of-motion activities as part of their care plan
  • Assist with medications that patients ordinarily take themselves, as assigned
  • Watch for changes in a patient’s condition and report them to the RN right away
  • Complete visit records and documentation accurately and on time
  • Take part in patient care conferences and in-service and continuing education programs

The team

Who you’ll work with

We keep things close-knit and easy to navigate — you’ll always know who to call:

  • CHHAs work closely with the RN assigned to each patient and with our Clinical Manager — and may also take direction from the PT, OT, or SLP on a case, depending on what’s in the plan of care.
  • Everyone on the care team works side-by-side — good home health care is a team effort, not a solo act.

And at the end of the day, every one of us — from the newest CHHA to the Director of Clinical Services — answers to the same person: the patient in front of us.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

  • Current California Home Health Aide certification (CHHA), meeting Medicare Conditions of Participation for Home Health Aide training and competency, in good standing
  • A sympathetic, patient approach to caring for elderly and ill patients
  • Ability to follow directions and to read and write clearly
  • Maturity and the ability to handle the demands of the job with good judgment
  • Willingness to travel within your assigned county — Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, or San Bernardino — for in-home visits

Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply — particularly Spanish, Armenian, Korean, Tagalog and Chinese speakers.
