Communication care that meets patients where they live

Are you an SLP ready to see how a patient actually communicates, eats, and swallows in the home they know best — not a treatment room? Home-based speech therapy gives you that full picture, and the context to make real progress on the goals that matter most to your patient’s daily life.

Empress Healthcare Inc., a Medicare-certified home health agency, is expanding its therapy team across all five counties it serves: Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino. We’re looking for licensed Speech-Language Pathologists committed to function-focused, patient-centered care in a home setting.

The work

What you’ll do

Speech-Language Pathologist

SLP

  • Complete each patient’s initial evaluation and plan of treatment and goals — then keep it current with a recertification every 60 days if treatment continues
  • Deliver the full range of physician-ordered speech-language pathology services in patients’ homes
  • Help patients improve or maximize their communication, and work toward the goals that matter most for daily living
  • Check in with physicians on how each patient is progressing, and adjust the plan of care as needed
  • Write a progress note each visit, a reevaluation when the expected treatment duration is reached, and a discharge summary to close out each case
  • Teach patients and family members the home programs that keep progress going between visits
  • Make a supervisory visit every 14 days for any patient on your caseload who is also seen by a Home Health Aide
  • Present in-services to Agency staff, take part in case conferences, and participate in QAPI activities
  • Keep OASIS assessments and other documentation on track and on time

The team

Who you’ll work with

We keep things close-knit and easy to navigate — you’ll always know who to call:

  • SLPs work closely with our Clinical Manager and Director of Clinical Services. Think of them as your go-to people for support, questions, and guidance — not distant supervisors.
  • When a Home Health Aide is part of a shared patient’s care, you’ll direct and check in on that piece of the plan too.
  • Everyone on the therapy team works side-by-side with our nursing staff and case managers — good home health care is a team effort, not a solo act.

And at the end of the day, every one of us — from the newest team member to the Director of Clinical Services — answers to the same person: the patient in front of us.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current licensure as an SLP in the state(s) where you practice — or completion of (or current progress toward) 350 supervised clinical practicum hours, at least nine months of supervised full-time SLP experience, and a passing score on the required national examination
  • Current, active license, in good standing
  • Two years of home health or clinical experience is a plus, but we welcome strong candidates at every experience level
  • A patient-centered approach to care and comfort working independently in a home setting
  • Willingness to travel within your assigned county across our five-county service area for in-home visits

Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply — particularly Spanish, Armenian, Korean, Tagalog and Chinese speakers.
